Hockey has one awarding body with accreditations split into two levels:
FIH National: The highest standard for surfaces with infill   FIH Global: The highest standard for surfaces without infill.

All internationals, each top club match and almost every other game of hockey now takes place using the latest in artificial grass hockey pitch technology. This type of hockey pitch provides fast pitches, true ball roll and player comfort from advanced pads beneath. This has resulted in the sport improving beyond recognition and total enjoyment for has been achieved throughout - players have access to the best hockey pitch, clubs from amateur to professional have access to year round training and viewers are witnessing a faster paced and more competitive sport.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) - the world's governing body is constantly looking for alternative hockey pitches that reduce the dependence on expensive nylon systems and require less watering and are more economic in cost. Their search for the latest in artificial hockey pitch technology has led to TigerTurf PP or PE wet fields - both types of hockey pitch already used for international matches.
TigerTurf's sand dressed hockey pitch features densely tufted, soft curled yarns that are part filled with selected round sand. When laid over a rubber pad all FIH playing standards are achieved and water requirement is reduced. The special fibres remain wet longer, whilst the sand layer supports the fibres in strength and retains more moisture within the system. For the player the game is enhanced, for the owner money is saved and for the club competing at the cutting edge of hockey pitch technology is possible.
